A photo story celebrating colour, craftsmanship, culture, and the enduring beauty of Kutch.
More than a beautiful photograph
For this photo shoot, we wanted to dress a story—one shaped by the hands of artisans, the colours of the desert, and generations of living tradition. The embroidered chaniya choli is not simply festive clothing. Its mirrors, geometry, and hand-worked motifs carry memory, identity, and the unmistakable spirit of Kutch.
Layered with traditional jewellery, every detail becomes part of the same visual language: expressive, confident, and deeply rooted.
Tradition, seen through a timeless lens
The monochrome portraits allow the workmanship to speak differently. Without the first impression of colour, the eye travels to the rhythm of the stitches, the placement of mirrors, the weight of jewellery, and the strength of the silhouette.
Traditional craft does not belong only to the past. It lives each time we wear it, reinterpret it, and make it part of our own story.
Carrying Kutch forward
These final frames bring the clothing back to the landscape and everyday gestures that inspired it. The flowing skirt, open-back blouse, tassels, vessels, and jewellery create a portrait of culture that feels lived-in rather than staged.
That is the heart of Pehramni: preserving the integrity of the craft while helping every wearer discover a look that feels personal, joyful, and alive.
